David D. Beal, M.D. Carriculum Vitae
Dr. Beal is a graduate of the University of Washington, where he earned a bachelor of science
degree; he earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago. Following an internship at USPHS
Hospital in Seattle, he returned to University of Chicago for a residency in otolaryngology.
Dr. Beal has received further training in the following areas:
• Cochlear implant surgery
• Cochlear implant surgery in children
• Endolymphatic Surgery
• KTP laser surgery
• Neurocom equitest
• Xomed audiant implant
Dr. Beal is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of several medical
organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, American Board of Otolaryngology, the
Alaska State Medical Society, the American Neurotology Society, AAO-HNS, American Medical
Association, and International College of Surgeons.
He attends meetings and conferences held by these organizations to keep his knowledge base, surgical
techniques, and philosophy current in his areas of interest.
He is a hospital staff member at Providence Hospital, Humana Hospital, The Alaska Surgery Center,
and Central Peninsula General Hospital and acts as a consultant at Valley Hospital and Elmendorf Air
Force Base Hospital.
